Trees for Cities
Since 2016, I’ve partnered with Trees for Cities to create engaging print and digital communications for one of the UK’s leading environmental charities. My work spans editorial design, campaign materials, educational resources, social media graphics and event communications, helping the charity share its impact with supporters, funders and local communities.
My connection with Trees for Cities began much earlier as a volunteer tree planter in 2007, making it especially rewarding to later support the organisation professionally through design.
A major part of my work is designing the charity’s annual Impact Report, transforming project updates, statistics and financial information into engaging editorial publications. Following the 2018 rebrand, I refreshed the report design to reflect the updated visual identity while maintaining consistency across future editions. Alongside the editorial design, I prepare the detailed Trustees’ Report and Financial Accounts for print, ensuring complex information is presented accurately and clearly.
Beyond the annual reports, I’ve created a wide range of communications including the People’s Postcode Lottery Impact Report, the Edible Playgrounds flyer and 10-year impact report, and community engagement materials such as the Hartlepool Tree Equity leaflet.
My work also includes social media campaigns promoting the benefits of urban trees during hot weather, event materials for the European Forum on Urban Forestry, and promotional graphics for National Tree Week.
Working across both print and digital projects allows me to combine editorial design, clear information hierarchy and strong visual storytelling across a wide range of publications and campaigns..

“Cat has an unparalleled attention to detail and always produces work of the highest quality. Her intuition for design is remarkable across various mediums. She produced reports and posters, all of which were brilliant. Cat communicates very clearly and promptly, invaluable when working to a busy production schedule.”

“Cat supported our team with the creation of not one but two vital reports, both with the same deadline. Her patience and professionalism were much appreciated throughout the process, and the report designs have been very well received.”
