Hobgoblin & Marston’s
Hobgoblin Beer
One of my first projects for the Hobgoblin beer brand was transforming a promotional tour van into an immersive brand experience for the Bringing Taste to the Nation campaign. Working from vehicle plans, I designed the interior vinyl graphics, using woodland imagery and Hobgoblin illustrator Dave Noonan’s artwork to recreate the atmosphere of Wychwood Brewery. Producing large-scale mock-ups ensured every element aligned seamlessly across the vehicle.
To extend the experience, I suggested creating The Manor, a branded video booth where visitors could record their tasting notes. I also designed promotional pint vouchers distributed throughout the tour, helping connect the campaign with participating pubs and venues.
Building on the campaign, I designed a promotional booklet and event card for the Great British Beer Festival, where the Hobgoblin character distributed the materials as part of a wider campaign supporting the British beer industry. The project was a rewarding opportunity to apply a well-loved brand across large-format graphics, printed marketing materials and an engaging live event.
Marston’s Beer Co.
Alongside Hobgoblin, I produced a wide range of marketing materials for Marston’s beer brands while freelancing as part of the in-house creative team at Vital Marketing. Working across established brands including Banks’s and Wainwright, I delivered projects to tight deadlines while maintaining consistency across multiple campaigns.
A key project was redesigning a Banks’s Brewery visitor leaflet, encouraging a younger audience to book brewery tours. The bold, graffiti-inspired cover and strong sectioning gave the publication a contemporary feel while remaining true to the brand identity.
My work also included editorial design for The Word magazine, promotional leaflets, advertisements, infographics, web banners, point-of-sale materials and large-format graphics. Projects ranged from seasonal beer promotions and the Masters of Cask and News from the Wood publications to Rotisserie pub marketing and the Pile Driver beer launch event featuring Status Quo. Working across such a varied range of brand communications allowed me to apply established identities across multiple formats, from printed publications and campaigns to large-scale event materials.
