Firstly you see a big part of my graphic design for Hobgoblin. This was the ‘Bringing Taste to the Nation’ tour van. For instance we took bus plans to totally customise the van. Above all that created the feeling of being in the woods. To bring Wychwood to the nation, I sourced leafy images to fit the spec. During the project, I created many mock-up visuals in large files. Meanwhile I also designed the Hobgoblin pint voucher given out to use at local venues.
We definitely pushed the boat out. Above all in getting the original blue van interior seamlessly covered! Like wise my visuals worked with Dave Noonan’s illustrations on the outside. I suggested making ‘The Manor’ sign. This led to a video booth with backdrop. That is to say where people enjoyed recording their tasting note videos! Overall I found it a hugely enjoyable project. Certainly due to the opportunity to work in 3D vinyl visuals. Further, because of the logistical challenge. Above all in making the most of an opportunity to create an experience.
After that, I designed a Hobgoblin booklet. This was used at a key marketing awards event. Secondly I created a Hobgoblin promo card. Hobgoblin himself gave it out at the Great British Beer Festival. Importantly it was key in the government deciding to reduce beer tax. To sum up, working on graphic design for Hobgoblin was great fun. Particularly in pushing the characterful brand to new areas.
