IDFX magazine and Wealth Collection
IDFX magazine
As Art Director for IDFX magazine, I designed monthly editorial layouts for a London-based publication aimed at interior design professionals. Taking over the role without a handover, I inherited a live monthly publication during its transition from QuarkXPress to Adobe InDesign. I quickly adapted to the editorial workflow while leading the publication’s technical transition.
Alongside producing my first issue within just one month, I rebuilt templates, created text and colour styles, standardised page layouts and refined production processes to improve efficiency and consistency across the magazine. Working closely with the editorial team, these improvements provided a solid foundation for future issues while maintaining the publication’s high editorial standards.
Wealth Collection
I also designed several features for the luxury lifestyle magazine The Wealth Collection. Photography was central to the editorial style, so I used restrained layouts and carefully considered colour palettes that complemented both the imagery and surrounding advertising. For a feature showcasing David Bailey’s photography, I deliberately kept the design understated, allowing the photography to take centre stage.
Working across both publications strengthened my editorial design, art direction and production skills, providing a strong foundation for the diverse print and digital projects I’ve delivered throughout my career.

Colleague feedback
“Cat was art director and I was editor for IDFX magazine. She was our one-woman art department, I was always struck by her cheerfulness and organisation in the face of over 40 pages a month. Her quick page turnaround was impressive! … an eye for detail with an intelligent approach to design, I would be happy to recommend her.”
Kate Burnett | Editor of IDFX Magazine
“Cat is a superbly creative and efficient person to work with. Whatever the topic of a feature, she always came up with visually exciting and relevant visuals. She turned around pages quicker than any art director I’ve worked with, while always taking care and great pride in the outcome.”
Jenny Brewer | Assistant Editor, IDFX Magazine
